What Moves You
At Movella Dance, it is our mission to cultivate a passion for dance by providing exceptional training that develops both technical skill and artistic expression, while fostering an inspiring and inclusive environment that nurtures creativity, builds confidence, and empowers dancers to achieve excellence on and off the stage.
Diana is a passionate and highly skilled dance educator with over 25 years of experience teaching ballet and a wide range of dance styles throughout Chicago and its surrounding communities. Her classical ballet training began at the Ruth Page Foundation School of Dance under the guidance of Patricia Klekovic and continued through advanced and professional levels with esteemed instructors including Larry Long, Dolores Lipinski (Long), Warren Conover, Birute Barodicaite, Orrin Kayan, and Rodney Irwin.
In addition to her strong ballet foundation, Diana has studied jazz, tap, character, and modern dance with acclaimed artists such as Tracy Vonder Haar (Hubbard Street Dance) and Julie Burman (Hubbard Street Dance and founding member of River North Dance Company). This diverse training reflects her deep understanding of both technical precision and artistic expression.
Throughout her career, Diana has remained deeply committed to making dance accessible, inclusive, and empowering. For over 15 years, she has partnered with organizations such as Chicago Public Schools, the YMCA, After School Matters, and the Chicago Park District, using dance as a powerful tool for youth engagement, social-emotional learning (SEL), and community arts education.
Diana is known for creating supportive, inclusive spaces where dancers of all levels feel inspired to grow. She is dedicated to nurturing creativity, building confidence, and instilling a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.
“I am so very humbled and thankful to live a life centered in the arts and to be able to share my love, passion, and knowledge with my students, friends, family, and community.”
